What is actually being generated?
Synth Lab uses the Web Audio API to construct an 8-bar loop or a 24-bar evolving instrumental piece on your device at 44.1 kHz stereo. Oscillators produce notes, filters shape their tone, and volume envelopes give each sound a beginning and an ending. The result is rendered into a temporary audio file in memory, then played when you press play.
Four controls, audible differences
Tempo changes note timing. Dreaminess extends note tails and increases the presence of sustained chords. Darkness lowers the filter cutoff, softening bright harmonics. Pulse changes the strength of the kick and percussion. Scene and mood choose different melodic patterns, chord progressions, and one of four modes. The advanced panel adds tonic selection, reverb, dotted delay, swing, and independent instrument levels, all applied when you synthesize. These are real changes to local synthesis, not controls for a generative AI service.
What stays on your device
Your browser can remember your chosen language, bookmarked soundscape IDs, and up to 24 composition recipes in local storage. A/B comparison keeps the two most recent generated versions in this tab. Audio waveforms are calculated from the rendered samples, and the playback cursor follows the active composition. Audio exists only in memory for the current visit. There is no account, upload, cloud library, or cross-device sync. Privacy choices let you disable preference storage or clear it at any time. Your hosting provider still receives ordinary requests needed to deliver the website.
A useful creative limit
This instrument makes short loops and evolving pieces with four sound palettes. The 24-bar option moves through an opening, a theme, a quieter passage, a lift, and an ending. It remains a rule-based composition tool. It does not generate vocals, master a recording, or provide a commercial music license. Patterns can repeat and output may resemble other simple compositions. Use the studio for exploration, listen at a sensible level, and bring the ideas you enjoy into your own creative practice.
